CONDITIONS WE TREAT

Headaches & Neck Pains

Can arise from a multitude of factors including stress, posture, nerve irritation, lifestyle, and disc irritation. Typically, neck pain is related to poor neurological stabilization strategies. In some cases an acute injury can be the culprit as well and even poor breathing. Using accessory muscles to breath can cause pain due to over activation. This can lead to discomfort in the neck, chest, arms, hands, and shoulders.

Tennis Elbow, Golfer’s Elbow, Carpal Tunnel

Arm/Elbow pain can come from a multitude of factors such as improper muscle activation, lifestyle, and sport injuries. Overuse, repetitive movement with poor technique, strength imbalance, and lack of proper warm-up can all also contribute to elbow/arm pain. Improper throwing mechanics for overhead athletes is another causative factor.

Tendonitis, Labral Injuries, Rotator Cuff Injuries

Shoulder pain can result from a few different factors such as improper biomechanics, stress, overuse, lifestyle, or tight muscles. Typically, improper muscle activation and tissue function leads to shoulder pain. Acute injury and overuse can result in shoulder pain as well. Improper breathing technique can also cause shoulder pain due to the use of accessory muscles.

Low Back Pain, Disc Herniations, & Sciatica

Back pain can come from many factors such as muscle tension, stress, lifestyle, nerve irritation, or disc irritation. Typically there is a lack of stability paired with poor posture that can result in pain. Acute injury is also something that can result in back pain. Like neck pain, improper breathing technique can result in back pain due to the lack of stabilization and use of accessory muscles.

Hip Impingement, Piriformis Syndrome, & Labral Injuries

Hip pain can result from several factors such as overuse, lifestyle, labral injury, impingement, and improper biomechanics. When the muscles around the hip become strained or tight it can lead to the improper biomechanics mentioned above. These improper muscle activation patterns then lead to pain and potentially further injury. The piriformis muscle can also become tight which can compress the nerve leading to symptoms at the hip or down the leg.

Patellar Tendonitis, IT Band Tightness, & Knee Cap Pain

Knee pain can be caused by several factors such as improper biomechanics, arthritis, lifestyle, overuse, and acute injury. Poor stability of the muscles around the hip or a lack of ankle mobility can lead to knee pain as well. The location of the knee pain will vary based on the specific cause of your pain.

Plantar Fasciitis & Ankle Sprain

Ankle and foot pain can be caused by several factors such as lifestyle, lack of mobility, improper biomechanics, loss of arch, overuse, acute traumatic injury, and even the type of shoes you wear. Many times ankle pain is closely related to hip pain and improper activation of muscles around the hip.
